I’m starting to record the monthly harvests, and I’m pretty excited about it. Most of my time is spent carefully sourcing ingredients both for my family and for my clients. I love when the season shifts and my cooking shifts with it. It makes me feel connected. In sync. Like my hands are being guided. In a ceremony, I once received the message: “You are good dirt.” … it might’ve been the nicest compliment I’ve ever heard. Good dirt nourishes. It holds life. It makes things grow. Anyway, here’s some of the treasures we were blessed with in the beginning of the year 🧚🏼‍♂️

I source food that is alive! vibrant! and fresh out of the ground. My menus change weekly, guided by what’s growing and my intuition. This work connects me to my senses and allows me to be fully present. The food isn’t rushed or uniform, neither is recovery.

I source intentionally, cook slowly and work with a limited amount of families at a time so the care and quality can stay intact.

Postpartum nourishment isn’t one-size-fits-all and it isn’t static either.

I work with fruits, vegetables, and herbs that are growing out of the ground right now. With what is alive, and with what the body can truly embrace in the weeks after birth.

The menu shifts and changes just as life does. This allows me to tune in and work intuitively with what’s available, what’s needed, and what best supports each mother’s unique recovery.

The Ojaian was created for those tender, sensitive, achy days after birth. The days when you can’t quite tell if you’re doing wonderfully or barely holding on. When you’re bonding with your newborn, trying to rest, troubleshooting so many new things, and reaching for nourishment that can truly heal you and feed your baby.

My postpartum food is made with living ingredients- organic, seasonal, and sourced from small Ojai farms whenever possible.

I cook in rhythm with what’s growing, what’s beautiful, and what genuinely supports recovery after birth.
